![]() ![]() You quite literally get invincibility as a move you can equip and you get more free health consumables than you'll know what to do with, on top of a multitude of upgrades that replenish your health upon dealing damage, but if you haven't gotten that far to know that, then you're in no position to be complaining. Go grind some mobs and upgrade your gear, and progress through the game to get your other powers, then come back and talk. That's entirely your fault for trying to shotgun through the game faster than it intends for you to do so. If they're taking up a third of your HP with each hit, that means you are either oblivious to how the upgrade system works, or that you've ventured in an area a bit too high in level for where you should be at. The lowliest grunt does not take 4 attacks to kill, unless you're super early in the game and haven't bothered to level up anything. Did you learn how to use all your combos properly, or are you trying to play this like a hack-and-slash game? Did you get your other powers and abilities yet? Sounds like you don't really understand all the things you can do in this game. I have to genuinely wonder: Has anyone in the dev team ever player either Dark Souls or the game they actually created now, Darksiders 3? Because I can't quite believe anyone could answer "yes" to either of those, or I can't figure out how they thought this can be released :(Īllow me to educate you on why you're wrong on all counts.įury is a powerhouse. I wonder what went wrong with those because this can't be intentional, it's like they found the spot furthest from a boss to place the checkpoint for that boss. Enemies constantly surprise you with attack animations you can't have known about, have no windup indications and often no windup, the level design is full of cheap shots like archers placed too high to see them, checkpoints are. Darksiders 3 misses on all these accounts. Or death is never stingy (compare how Super Meat Boy handles death for an example of this) and doesn't cost you time. Or there's never any surprised in the first place. ![]() ![]() Either you could have known beforehand, you can observe for example. A die in 1/2/3 hits game only works if it's fair on some level.Even if one still wants to go Dark Souls the Darksiders game - shitty as the idea is - at least have someone actually play Dark Souls or a Dark Souls clone! Don't make a shitty implementation which seems to be based on a wikipedia entry and then don't playtest it!.When Fury asks in the intro whether one can die from Boredom, I didn't think she'd be talking about the combat system :( That's not good gameplay, that's called "Boredom". Dark Souls does not equate "Make them dodge until they get a perfect, then hit counter".In reality, the lowliest grunt takes 4 attacks to kill and eats a third of my HP + interrupts me if they hit. The game tells me Fury is a powerhouse, super dangerous, basically almighty. For one, as you say, it goes totally against what the game is telling me should happen.I actually have a few more issues with it: What do you think about this?įully agreed. I understand it's more combat focused but that doesn't mean a skeleton should kill an ancient Nephilim who is empowered by the Charred Council. Now, I love Dark Souls as I finished all three games but I don't want my Darksiders to turn into Dark Souls. She impaled herself with an angel blade in a cutscene and used herself as a ram to drive that sword into her enemy's face but in actual gameplay, even the lowliest skeleton can kill her easily. Fury's mission IS SANCTIONED by the Charred Council, despite it being a trap and she was at full power (if her power would have decreased, she would have noticed), yet she seems so. Death was not at full power due to his mission not being sanctioned by the Council and was a tremendously powerful guy. War was stripped of his power and was incredibly powerful. Now, gameplaywise, I don't like the fact that I can't feel as a badass, lethal Nephilim because even skeletons can kill Fury with just two or three blows. Now, Darksiders III is a good game and Fury is a good lead, an arrogant warrior who slowly changes and realizes that maybe she should fight for more than to satisfy her own anger. The lore is incredible and the characters are amazing. First, I'd like to say that I love Darksiders.
